Our Mural Story
In a sea of traffic and other buildings, how can one building be set apart so it can be seen? That was the problem when we first purchased this location.
What can you do with a plain old pole barn building? Our building had no personality and most people didn’t even notice it as they passed by, even though it was 150 feet long and 22 ft. high, from the floor to the roof. It was white, oxidized and real ugly! So, 15 years ago we power-washed and painted it canary yellow. That helped! But there was still no personality.
Then we thought, “How about some art on the side of the building?” But what was it going to be? After several months of ‘playing’ with ideas, we decided on a 1900s main street scene. We (the family) discussed, debated, and finally decided on the building you see now. All of the business names on the side of the building are based on ancestors from our family, making this business a truly special place for us all.
We hope you enjoy “OUR MAIN STREET!”
In The Making
If you didn’t believe us before, here’s proof of how 800 E Main Street used to look and what we’ve made it into today.
